Our model is supported by rigorous, scientific evidence. In 2020, we ran a pilot program in Florida.. Quasi-RCT analyses prove our outreach boosted turnout by up to 26%. The Wall Street Journal and ProPublica, among others, have cited our work.
Our Vision
We believe that democracy works best when all voices are heard. Free Our Vote is committed to restoring trust in institutions by connecting with marginalized individuals skeptical of authorities.
Since 2020, we have invested in our relationships with grassroots organizations, charitable donors, and a network of academics operating in this space. Those bonds have helped us to identify the ubiquity of similar barriers to democracy outside of Florida. We now operate in several states and continue to grow.
Dignity and
Humanity
We recognize that past felony convictions do not define an individual’s worth or existence. Our work is grounded in the belief that every person deserved dignity, respect, and the opportunity to fully participate in society.
We believe in the power of knowledge to empower individuals. By providing accurate information about voting eligibility and assisting with the resolution of legal barriers, we enable individuals to exercise their right to vote confidently.
Empowerment Through
Knowledge
Innovation and Efficiency
We embrace innovation and leverage technology to efficiently solve complex problems. Our rapid development of a platform to address felony disenfranchisement showcases our commitment to creative and effective solutions.
Non-Partisanship
We are non-partisan in our approach, focusing solely on the goal of re-enfanchising eligible citizens regardless of their political affiliations. Our mission is to restore voting rights and increase civic engagement for all
Access to Democracy
We believe that every citizen should have unimpeded access to their fundamental right to vote. Due efforts are dedicated to removing barriers to voting, particularly for individuals affected by felony disenfranchisement.
